Broken Links

Neither of the two external links was working. I have corrected the one to the Danish Naval Museum to what seems to be an appropriate page, set to read in English. I cannot find the Norwegian link. Can you please check Viking1808 (talk) 21:57, 12 December 2010 (UTC)

An appropriate article in Norwegian has now been set in place of the broken link noted above. This may not be the article originally placed at this point. Concerning the Seagull in 1808

There is some confusion over reports on this ship. Under the listings of HMS Seagull, Wikipedia has her as “a 16-gun brig-sloop launched in 1806. She was captured by the Danes in 1808 and burnt” Under “Seagull class brig-sloop” she was launched on 1 July 1805 The report here in "Gunboat War" faithfully records the referenced London Gazette report concerning the capture of HMS Seagull, then reports without reference that the Danes raised the sunken ship and took her into service. This seems to be correct, as a Danish referencehas the brig Seagull under Danish command capturing the Swedish gunboat Gripen off Skagen on 25 November 1808. Before I jump in to change the apparent anomalies, are there any other sources or comments? Viking1808 (talk) 17:47, 27 December 2010 (UTC)

Further, Michael Phillips Ships of the Old Navy website has this ship built in 1806, but sunk and recovered by the Danes.Viking1808 (talk) 20:33, 7 January 2011 (UTC)

Winfield has the launch year as 1805. The info under the HMS Seagull disambig page is therefore incorrect, the error being probably from Phillips. Acad Ronin (talk) 20:43, 8 January 2011 (UTC)
