Confusing sentence

I do not know what this sentence is trying to say.

"Formerly the region was called San Blas until 1998[2] as Kuna Yala until 2010."

Was it called San Blas until 1998 and then Kuna Yala until 2010? What, then, is it called now? Or what in heck does this mean? Could the author please clarify/rewrite this a little more intelligibly? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.22.43.50 (talk) 18:30, 2 November 2012 (UTC)

English?

I have just been to the area that is now in 02-2013 still called San Blas and met some of the people who are still called the Kuna, with K. I became interested in their culture that is why I read this article which is super interesting, and of course I cannot validate the information. But unfortunately I have to report this article is not written in proper English, the entire text sounds like a bad translation, maybe from Spanish, with google translate. I agree. Normally, I am able to figure out what is meant and put sentences into Standard English, but in the case of many sentences in this article, I cannot figure out what was meant, so I'm not going to try. What is needed is a fluently bilingual Spanish-English reader who can figure out what was meant and put it into correct English, possibly even referring to the original sources, some or all of which may be in Spanish.CorinneSD (talk) 19:52, 25 October 2013 (UTC)

Name?

Is there a source that says that they call themselves Gunas and not Kunas? From what I know they always have been called Kunas and they live in Kuna Yala with the K, not G. Unless there has been a recent revision in their naming by the Panamanian government or the Kuna people, I would say that the naming of this article is wrong and it should be changed.
