Were there actually real snuff films?
editI want to have something clear, were they actually real snuff films on which upon the first 2 GP movies were based on? Or just some marketing scheme? El Chompiras 11:07, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
- If you actually read the article you'd know that they are not snuff films, just based on murders and such--SUIT 19:14, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, the first two have been verified to be based on actual films by various Tokyo Police Dpt members, on multiple occasions.Lostinlodos (talk) 03:18, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
- There is no official statement verifying this claim. Instead of, the History of the Guinea Pig Films states on behalf of "Flowers of Flesh and Blood" that its script was written by manga artist Hideshi Hino, while according to the same source "The Devil's Experiment" was made by Satoru Ogura to "satisfy the hardest gore hound and shock all those who dared to watch them." So the claim that both films are based on real films is not very plausible.
- The source for this claim may be the film makers themselves, who also promoted the first film with a campaign stating it is a real snuff movie ("They were pushing the limits of good taste with an advertising campaign that claimed that the film was a real snuff flick.", [1]). – Viciarg ᚨ 11:39, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
article states that first movie was a re-enactment of an actual snuff film
editupon reasearch of snuff on this website it stated that flowers of flesh and blood was based on a snuff 8mm film that was sent to Hideshi Hino whi in turn gave it ot police , but as of now their has never been one report of a snuff film on record ,so my question is does snuff films really exist , or did Hideshi Hino use this as a marketing campagin for his film he created flowers of flesh and blood . Since it states that both snuff films ( the films 1&2 ) were turned over to authories , their has never been mention of it in recorded media its always been hearsay on the interent ....any insight would be welcome ! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Metalfab (talk • contribs) 20:34, 26 February 2007 (UTC).

LSD?
editNo mention of the Guinea Pig: LSD film? Lostinlodos (talk) 03:19, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
- The 1989 film "Lucky Sky Diamond" is no Guinea Pig film according to http://www.guineapigfilms.com/History.html – Viciarg ᚨ 11:08, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
- And yet the film is listed in the Film Bible as being a GP film spin-off squeal. Lostinlodos (talk) 22:15, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
- The Japanese Wikipedia states that LSD was in fact planned as an official entry, but after the Tsutomu Miyazaki events, further entries were forbidden. I don't know the sources, but it sounds more reasonable. Someone should cross-check it since the source this English entry relates to doesn't seem too trustworthy. --Laughing Vampire (talk) 16:33, 24 September 2014 (UTC)
Mekingu Obu Za Ginipiggu
editAccording to IMDb and the article, the aforementioned making of was released in 1986, whereas "Vinnie St. John, Bloody Asia - Cat III - Little handbook", p34f, states, that the making of was released in the aftermath of the arrest of Miyazaki in july 1989. Could anyone please verify either release date? Thank you, Viciarg ᚨ 11:08, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
