Talk:Guérande

geography edit

Guérande is almost surrounded by the sea at the West, the Brière swamp at the east and the Vilaine river by the north.

This may be true of the canton, but is not true of the town, which is quite some way from the sea or the Briere or the Vilaine. -- Danny Yee (talk) 21:34, 23 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Salt Production edit

No mention here of the salt marshes of Guerande, which for centuries have been the source of Guerande's fleur de sel, on of the highest regarded fleur de sels in production today.
