Removed the section for following reasons: first of all the reference doesn't seem to cover the statement. Assuming he did say it,

are we sure he was referencing the Group of nine, and not some more recent mentions of G9 in relation to G8+china? [1].
Given the group of Nine's limited focus on cooperation within Europe. Seems like comparing apples and oranges.
why would it even be relevant. It seems like a purely political statement. possibly poorly researched by speech writers.
