Redirect to Hand grenade proposal

edit

I propose that Grenade be redirected to Hand grenade. I don't even think there is a need for Grenade (disambiguation), but I'm happy for one to be made after the redirection has occurred. The Hand grenade article discusses tear gas varieties and grenade launchers, so this dab isn't req'd.

Grenade (disambiguation)Proposal

edit

It is important to have the grenade (disambiguation) section. Grenade has taken many forms beyond the explosive device. Multiple definitions of grenade are supported by the following proposal that Wikipedia needs to take into consideration:

The term grenade in reference to physical attractiveness should receive its own Wikipedia page, or at least a mention within the physical attractiveness section. Grenade is defined in popular culture as an unattractive friend of a hot girl (http://onlineslangdictionary.com/meaning-definition-of/grenade). This term, though not found in print dictionaries, has received enough widespread popularity, and staying power to be mentioned on Wikipedia. The term’s public usage was first coined in 2003 by Urban Dictionary. Throughout the years, the term has continued to receive over thirty-five contributions, the majority of them defining grenade as some variant of an unattractive female. The term gained widespread popularity in 2010 when one of the characters from the show Jersey Shore used the term in describing the girl he had brought back to the house. While this term is by no means professional language, this slang has proved to have lasting power (nine years), and has gained widespread use and understanding for young adults since Jersey Shore. Thus, grenade deserves its place as either a mention on the physical attractiveness page or its own definition.--Sworley15 (talk) 16:20, 17 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
