I do not think that this article should be merged with Greenland. I believe this can be added on to. Also, this article was looking for specific information. Green caterpillar 19:48, 16 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'm also against the merger; there is a lot to write about this topic. —Nightstallion (?) 12:10, 19 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Fact error? edit

"Greenlandic citizens have EU citizenship, but cannot vote in EU affairs."

Is there really such a thing as a "Greenlandic citizenship"? Aren't the Greenlandic people Danish citizens, and the non-voting rule applied to Danish citizens residing in either Greenland or the Faroe Island? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 58.188.97.134 (talk) 09:09, 14 January 2007 (UTC). Jyllands-Posten edit

According to Enlargement of the European Union#Greenland: 'There has been some speculation as to whether Greenland may consider rejoining the European Union. On 4th January 2007 the Danish daily Jyllands-Posten quoted the former Danish minister for Greenland, Tom Hoyem, as saying "I would not be surprised if Greenland again becomes a member of the EU...The EU needs the Arctic window and Greenland cannot alone manage the gigantic Arctic possibilities"'

However, that information isn't mentioned here. It could definitely be incorporated in this page's article text. (58.188.97.134 09:13, 14 January 2007 (UTC))Reply

Greenland update, maybe worth mentioning edit

In a November 2008 referendum, Greenlandic people voted to further loosen tights with Denmark, seeking for more self-government. --Anna Lincoln (talk) 11:18, 1 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Argentinian province is not part of the European Union edit

The lead map "Indicating locations of European Union and Greenland" seems to show Argentina's Tierra del Fuego Province as part of the European Union. The Falkland Islands may be disputed, this area is not. The map's creator, User:Phoenix500, was a sock puppet of User:Phoenix B 1of3 who left Wikipedia in June 2012. More criticism here, which may require additional changes, possibly to additional maps. Anyone want to fix this? --96.237.209.19 (talk) 23:15, 21 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

I replaced it with File:European Union Greenland Locator.svg which is probably more helpful anyways because if focuses on the european portion of the EU. TDL (talk) 23:28, 21 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

OCT status and fishing agreement edit

The end of the paragraph talks about the agreement being struck down by the European Court of Auditors. Looking at the source article, this happened in 2006 (I think we should add the date) but I see that there is still an ongoing agreement. So I think that this part requires a follow up and/or a modification. (Was that decision reversed ? Ignored ? Was a new deal made and when...) I'll leave that to people more knowledgeable than me. 85.91.186.118 (talk) 11:28, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
