Unheaded comment
editThis page really ought to explain why they don't just use alpha, beta, gamma etc. - those would appear to be distinctiv enuff all by themself. ò.o --Tropylium 18:28, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
- Zeta and Eta, for a start, are hard to distinguish, at least for me. SDSpivey (talk) 15:38, 19 April 2023 (UTC)
Church translation
editI believe the proper translation for 'Ν' (ναός naós), would be 'Temple' rather than 'church'. Church (εκκλησία) mainly is used to describe the people not the building. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.210.23.28 (talk) 11:23, 25 July 2013 (UTC)
Deletion
editI removed this chunk because it's not clear what relevant point it's making:
- The Greek alphabet contains seven vowels and seventeen consonants, a total of twenty-four symbols. In addition, there are seven vowel diphthongs, namely: "αι" /ɛ/, "ει"/ɪ/, "οι"/ɪ/, "αυ"/af/ or /av/, "ευ"/ɛf/ or /ɛv/, "ου"/u/ and "υι"/iː/. [1]
