The history of this Great Race, needs to be set straight. My name is Howard D. Williams, I live in Oklahoma City, Okla. I am the person who created the Great American Race that was made famous by Interstate Batteries. I have always owned all the rights to this GREAT event and still do. I am president of Cord Automobile Company (1968) and The Stutz Bearcat Automobile Company, (1967) I was a member of the Oklahoma House of Representatives, in 1964 and served as a member of the Oklahoma Legislature for 10 years.

Now for the facts: The first great race was in 1971. Not 1983. I know, I was there. It ended up at the Indianapolis 500 that year, Our car was sponsored by Sunco and it was the same year that Mark Donahue won the race. I licensed them to run one event in 1983 and I was paid $25,000 and will gladly share copies of the contract and the checks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by DWinOKC (talkcontribs) 23:03, 15 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

I would highly recommend against that, being that this is open. You can change any facts and simply cite them. If you need help, you can post it here. Tommy! [message] 23:36, 15 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
