editWhere is the section The island is widely visited by high-school students during their spring vacation. The most popular souvenir, mainly purchased by girls, is a T-shirt proclaiming "I got wrecked on Keppel Island" from? Vacation is an American term, and the Spring holiday period is only 1-2 weeks in September\October. The Christmas holidays are the longest so it is more probable that the majority of visits occur in that period. As for the t-shirt, who would sell that? Is there a clothing store hidden somewhere on the island?
- I agree with you about the strange use of the term "spring vacation". But I would assume the T-shirts are available at the resort (currently being redeveloped and probably available on the mainland too or by daytrip operators etc. But I agree it needs a citation.Kerry (talk) 06:29, 24 January 2016 (UTC)
Is GKI redevelopment coming back?
editSydney Morning Herald is reporting on plans (hopes?) for new capital raise and new tech resurrecting Great Keppel Island. SMH report of a GKI resurrection. A$300 million being raised?; starting Sep 2018. Many regulatory approvals from the Aus gvmt already in place. Cheers. N2e (talk) 14:10, 4 September 2018 (UTC)
- There is this October 2018 news story about a Super Rich Asian Couple going to buy the island including spending $400M on the resort. But I don't think that is a done deal yet, so from a Wikipedia perspective, I think it's all WP:CRYSTAL at this stage. Kerry (talk) 20:25, 24 October 2018 (UTC)
