According to 1977 edition of New Caxton Encyclopedia, grass skiing already existed as a "training" using normal skis and a grass mat - Skysmith 10:24, 20 July 2005 (UTC)

I sprained my ankle grass skiing somewhere in New Hampshire during a camp trip in 1981 .. it was already well-established at that point in time. Yes, it well predates the 1980s. Article adjusted accordingly. Daniel Case 17:37, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

Regarding the birthplace of grass skiing, this article lists France at the beginning of the article and Germany later. Does anyone have information to clarify this? DivusFilius (talk) 04:26, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

TurfSkiing

My dad Charles Goodwin invented and patented TurfSkiing in 1961 in Vermont and was president and CEO of TurfSki Inc. until 1970. TurfSkis are 39 inch skis with each 7 ROLLERS and a SLIDE Block at the end which gives the TurfSkier the feel of long skis. the elipitacal rollers allow the TurfSkis to "slide" on the grass slopes as if on snow!
