I'm unsure of whether to add this page to the category for heirs apparent who never acceded, because he was an heir apparent and he never ruled, but he was moreso an heir presumptive. Morhange 04:13, 11 September 2005 (UTC)

Move

Can this article be moved to George Alexandrovich, Tsarevich of Russia or George Alexandrovich, Tsesarevich of Russia because that was his highest title in life. I know he was heir presumptive not heir apparent but look at Isabella, Princess of Asturias (1470–1498) and Isabella, Princess of Asturias (1851–1931) who were both heir presumptive to the Csatilian and Spanish throne but their article still give their title as heir presumptive.--Queen Elizabeth II's Little Spy (talk) 03:20, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

Tsesarevich is correct, but will be endlesslky reverted by those who think it's a misspelling of Tsarevich. Tsarevich was not a substantive title: any and all sons of a tsar were entitled to be bear it, although by custom it was used informally only for the heirs apparent. Grand Duke is the title he appears to be best known by in English, and that's where his article is now. FactStraight (talk) 06:14, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

It has also been reported, and seems correct that G.D. George did marry (probably a Dane) who bore twin children (a boy and a girl who were raised in Dennmark and within the circle of the Danish House) born just after his death. It does not appear that the girl ("Alexi" now dec'd) had any children, but the son (educated in England and lost during the Dunkirk rescues) has one surviving son. As was the custom, I believe they took the family name of "Alexandrov." That survivor was at the interment ceremonies for the Imperial Family, with the Romanov family. So, I don't think he is totally unknown.

overuse of quotes

This article, especially the section "Tsesarevich", uses quotes in a way that makes comprehension harder. Some of the quotes are 40-50 words long. I'm quite new to editing wikipedia (this is a new editor task for me), and I'm unsure how to deal with them. Would quote boxes work better for some of them? Aiue (talk) 18:02, 15 May 2023 (UTC)
