Important notice
editThe government section of the "Outline of Syria" needs to be checked, corrected, and completed -- especially the subsections for the government branches.
When the country outlines were created, temporary data (that matched most of the countries but not all) was used to speed up the process. Those countries for which the temporary data does not match must be replaced with the correct information.
Please check that this country's outline is not in error.

Thank you.
It's not a civil war.
editIt's not a civil war.
There has been no declaration of war, the opponents are ill-defined and largely foreign to the country, those who oppose the government are clearly supplied, protected and to a large extent organized and coordinated by a foreign government, and the only body with anything like the authority to declare it a civil war other than the Syrians themselves is the UNSC, which has failed to do so and is unlikely to in future. Not the ICRC, not random UN officials speaking off the cuff, not the media, not the United States of America, not the ICoJ not the ICC - and definitely not some wanker editing a Wikipedia article. The UNSC, in a vote, on a resolution, with the approval, tacit or explicit, of all five veto-holding members.
Not happening.
If you had an ounce of integrity you'd correct this, but then you put it in there in the first place, so I'm not holding my breath.
It is, in fact, just as Assad described it: an attack on the sovereign state of Syria by foreign-backed terrorists and, from the plain facts on the ground, the invasion and occupation of Syrian territory by NATO members Turkey and the USA. Moreover, there have been hundreds of airstrikes by Israel and a series of missile attacks by the USA, France and the UK.
There is nothing "civil" about it. It's a conflict almost entirely manufactured and sustained by the US and NATO to meet unnamed strategic objectives. 2806:10AE:10:50B0:4686:9359:31AA:F4A6 (talk) 07:15, 10 March 2023 (UTC)
