Given the article's assertion about how little is known about Gonzalo, it may be that there isn't enough to meet notability guidelines and establish the need for a stand-alone article. signed, Rosguilltalk 00:36, 12 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
Since he was Chief Constable of Santiago de Guatemala, that may be enough to establish him as notable. However, I originally created this page as a redirect to Gonzalo de Alvarado, a page now dealing solely with his cousin, but originally covering both conquistadors. There is much confusion between the two in sources, but the other Gonzalo de Alvarado is much better documented (although that is not reflected in the Wiki article).
