- The expression "whole numbers" is a translation of the latin term "integer", meaning untouched, which is the formal and most accurate way of denoting the natural numbers and their negatives. 5.254.138.27 (talk) 11:13, 15 April 2013 (UTC)

Principle plura edit
In the introduction to God Created the Integers, Hawking uses the expression principle plura when he refers to the importance of mathematical rigour as recognized by the Greeks. I have no clue what that expression may mean. A Google web search wasn't helpful. What does it mean? Where does it come from? --217.226.65.111 (talk) 11:31, 17 October 2014 (UTC)
