CCTP 752 - Peer Review - Fall 2022 edit

Hello! This article offers a straightforward overview of the theory and its application. Are there any criticisms of this theory? Does this theory have any current usage? Notably, this article references the term ‘model’ first as a descriptor in the Introduction section, then references a “GPA model” under the section ‘Sec. goals’. Although there are similarities between theories and models, they have different functions. It could be helpful to either illustrate the GPA model, or change the wording.

References & Citations - There are currently 14 references, but the overall content of the page relies heavily on Dillard (the drafter of this theory). It could be useful to find secondary sources that cite the use and application of this theory in real world settings. Also, the most recent source is over 10 years old. There could be literature or systematic analyses that are more recent. Dj922 (talk) 02:30, 17 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Overall, this article is well-written and has a logical arrangement throughout. The content is and easy to understand for someone who is not familiar with the theory. However, the content on this page is not enough to be considered comprehensive, more content can be expanded on this page. For example, the background and critiques section can further explored. Previous relevant works made by the theory's creator may be explored in the background section. The methodology or details of the original research can be explained in a separate section. In the critique section, there are only researches that propose the opposing views, newer studies that supports this theory can also be explored. In the application section, more studies can be included and more applications can be added to increase credibility and enrich content. Furthermore, since this theory has three clear sections, goal, plan, and action, graphs and visual aids might be helpful when explaining this theory. Ema554 (talk) 07:19, 18 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

This article is structured well in general and anyone who reads it will gain a basic understand of this theory. The overview provides a good explanation of the theory in general, but it would be beneficial to provide links for more keywords in this section. Examples of words I believe would be useful to provide links for are "influence", "goals", and "model" in this context. In the introduction to the concepts, the seven types of primary goals should be mentioned, and then elaborated upon in detail further down under the section "primary goals". At this point, its hard to distinguish what the seven specific primary goals are at a glance. What entails the "primary goal" of "obligation" for example? Would it be possible to create a sub-section for each "primary goal" and elaborate what each primary goal entails? It would also be useful here to use more links to other wikipedia pages on important words to understand the concepts better. A visual representation of this theory would also be really helpful.
