Cleaning up edit
Okay, I've cleaned up this one, but germ-free animal needs similar work, and ecoorgan (oops, I mean, Human Microbial Organ) is going to need the mother of all cleanups. Anybody out there want to help? I'll tag 'em for now... -- Perey 13:45, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
These definitions are wrong.
There are 4 status of (laboratory) animals:
1.The gnotobiotic status of (laboratory) animals means that they are absolute FREE of microorganisms (sterile).
2.Animals with known microorganism state are SPF animals, specified pathogen free. They come with a list indicating which microorganisms these animals do certainly NOT have.
3.minimal disease status means that these animals were once SPF, but have come in contact with one of the indicated microorganisms.
4.Conventional status means that these animals were born and raised without special precautions considering microorganisms
