as presented like this the article deals with a cation not a compound, the chembox states C5H12NaO , the text C5H12NO . What exactly is a typical counterion? V8rik (talk) 17:43, 22 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

I fixed the MF (C5H12NO is correct). Commercially, it is available as betaine aldehyde chloride. But in the context of metabolism and biological function (the focus of the article), the counterion is irrelevant. -- Ed (Edgar181) 20:09, 22 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
