Schweine

edit

Her song 'Schweine' became popular when it was one of the listed songs on Grand Theft Auto IV's fictional Russian radio station Vladivostok FM.

If I am not mistaken, the song "Schvayne" initially became popular via the internet, a couple years prior to its being included in GTA4. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.174.111.197 (talk) 22:26, 19 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

That's right. --87.162.216.200 (talk) 21:56, 12 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
Maybe it is interesting, that the words "Eins, zwei, drei, schicki schicki Schweine" is german and means "one, two, three, pretentious pigs", what makes sense, if you see how they march in the video clips.

German native here. Technically it should be "Schicki-Schicki-Schweine" or "schicke schicke Schweine" (hard to tell), "schick" being German and meaning something like "swanky" or "suave". But "Schicki" is an ironic noun form referring to an overly dressed-up pretentious guy as you say. Basically like the stereotypical "snake oil salesman" but with a stronger connotation of flaunting one's wealth like interbellum English "bright young things" (if uses disparagingly),or modern Chinese "tuhao" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tuhao. "Smarmy" would probably be the closest English equivalent. 14:14, 3 October 2022 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:908:4B33:BD80:0:0:0:448 (talk)

Requested move

edit

I'm wondering if the correct spelling for this artist name (and page) Glyukoza or Glukoza. The title is currently "Glyukoza" yet all references within the page name her as Glukoza (Including the official site). Can anyone give a little more information? -- SovietNinja 10:18, 23 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

This article has been renamed from Glyukoza to Glukoza as the result of a move request. --Stemonitis 16:22, 28 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Smileyface?

edit

Is there really a smileyface in the middle of her name or is that some kind of unicode problem? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.15.223.195 (talk) 17:20, 20 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

It's an unicode prob. --87.162.216.200 (talk) 21:56, 12 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
Actually, there IS a smileyface instead of "O" --Beno HR (talk) 17:28, 11 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Official Site?

edit

The official seems to have fallen into a state of blankness over a year ago. Perhaps we should get rid of the link, or something along those lines. En-AU Speaker (T) (C) (E) 00:33, 13 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

And then what?

edit

I noted she styles herself "Gluk'oZa" nowadays, but this has nothing to do with the Ukraine "special military operation"; she did this already in 2020 or 2021. After the latter date, she all but disappeared; the Twitter feed is dormant, the Youtube channel is no new content for months on end, with the occasional longer hiatus. And she has changed - she completely ditched the riotgrrrl persona and I was not at first certain it was the same individual. "Gluk'oZa" as of 2022 is some middle-aged woman trying to appear young and sexy, and rotely cranking out bland and unnotable hyper-consumerist "Sochi tourist"-grade electropop with really crude sexual innendo (gratuitous bikini/nipple shots, riding a banana-shaped pool float; the works). I am at an utter loss to explain that change. It's like Kathleen Hanna went to bed and woke up as Kim Kardashian.

It is right at the bottom of Uncanny Valley if one knows her early work, but all accounts say that this third-rate attempt to repeat Madonna's mid-career recipe for success is in fact Наталья Ионова. Anyone got any idea what happened? Julia Volkova redux? 14:38, 3 October 2022 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:908:4B33:BD80:0:0:0:448 (talk)
