Merger from DL-Phosphinotricin edit

I think the article on DL-Phosphinotricin should be merged to this article - the content overlaps significantly. A separate subesection on the salt should be sufficient in my opinion.--Golden Wattle talk 02:16, 20 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'd agree with the merging, as long as both chemboxes are kept, as they have different properties. At least this is my opinion. IcyEyeG (talk) 19:20, 14 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

It might be sensible to link these two articles, as long as Glyphosate (a Monsanto product) and Glufosinate (a Bayer CropScience product) are not confused, not so much since these herbicides are produced by different companies, but because they are chemically distinct compounds - hence also the different properties, as pointed out by user IcyEyeG. To clear up matters further, Phosphinotricin is the ammonium salt only of Glufosinate, not of Glyphosate. In this context it might be helpful to consult wikipedia's knowledge abroad, e.g. on its German sites under http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glyphosat and http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glufosinat. --212.64.228.100 (talk) 08:41, 19 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

@Jytdog: Thanks for the merge! Did you look at the TP of DL-Phosphinotricin? It was largely written by some very lazy students and some of the sourcing was very poor. Are you sure that the PAN is RS? SmartSE (talk) 12:48, 7 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
yes i did see the talk page of that article. student editors are such a mixed bag. About PAN, we use it on a bunch of herbicide/pesticide articles; they are generally good summaries of uses, tox, etc. This one is a bit old, so I wouldn't object to replacing it and editiing with a newer source. The EU reviewed glufosinate in 2007 and Bayer submitted further data that the EU reviewed in 2012 - those reviews would probably be better. Jytdog (talk) 13:50, 7 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Ball-and-stick error? edit

As far as I can tell, the NH2 group in the ball-and-stick diagram seems to be shown incorrectly as an NH3 group. Is anyone in a position to fix this? JonRichfield (talk) 03:56, 20 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
