When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye to it. Matthew 27:24

Turn out accross the globe edit

The Global Handwashing Day was suppose to be celebrated every year, the turn out accross the globe is written as if that is the turn out, but the thing is, it is the turn out for year 2008 only. What about the year after? Serenity id (talk) 07:07, 3 March 2009 (UTC) following note 9 it is clear that their date is May 5th (151.48.88.219 (talk) 05:27, 7 May 2019 (UTC))Reply

Thank you! edit

I was fascinated and delighted to read this article. What a great initiative! Amandajm (talk) 16:24, 15 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Clean up edit

I'm going to tackle the clean up (no pun intended) of this article later. I'm proposing removing much of the primary source material and only adding events that are special or very interesting to the global turnout. There's no need to cover every country IMHO. Also, many of the references from the GHD website point to what is now a "dead link" even though wiki's not registering it like that... Megalibrarygirl (talk) 00:23, 24 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi, that sounds good, could be quite a bit of work... I have also just e-mailed one of the main people behind GHD to see if she and her team has an interest (and time) to get involved with this article, see: http://forum.susana.org/forum/categories/23-hand-washing/13616-global-handwashing-day-2015 EvM-Susana (talk) 10:10, 24 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
@EvM-Susana Cool and thank you! It's not too bad cleaning up the country part though... most of that content I realized was cut-and-paste from the website! I just deleted it. There was some cool info I kept from other sources though.Megalibrarygirl (talk) 15:30, 24 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
Let's discuss here how to improve the article further as I see that User:WASH Hanna has made some changes which were reverted by User:Mean as custard. So to avoid frustrations we could outline here what should be changed and why. I think that we need to add the themes of the different years (if there were different themes for each year?). Do we also have any evidence on the success of this campaign, ideally from independent sources?EvM-Susana (talk) 20:52, 27 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
I think that's a great idea to add the year's themes and effectiveness from independent sources. Is @WASH Hanna a newer user? It's not easy to be neutral at the best of times and harder when you really care about a topic! @EvM-Susana thanks for constructive feedback. Megalibrarygirl (talk) 15:31, 28 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
