I have read the articles covering guidelines for a Neutral Point of View and Conflict of Interest and I think that this article about Glenn Smith falls within the guidelines. While it was indeed written by Glenn Smith and me, there is nothing factually incorrect nor is there any aggrandizement of the facts. I think the overall tone is quite understated but Glenn Smith is a noteworthy person who has been involved in Texas politics for many years.

As mentioned in one of the articles it would be pointless to start a new article for the sake of obfuscation specially because the current article says exactly what it should, plain, simple, clearly and without bias.

If there are suggestions about what could be done to clarify NPOV or COI please let me know.

TIA, Chris Jefferies.

Having just discovered this article, I agree with the comments above. There is nothing wrong with it in terms of Wikipedia policies; the fact that it was apparently created by the subject does not mean it should be deleted, and there is no need to keep a prominent 'CONFLICT OF INTEREST!' template at the top of the article, which just makes us look bad. To me, this kind of article exemplifies the problems with Wikipedia's conflict-of-interest policies: we should be concerned with the quality of an article rather than who wrote it. I will remove the 'COI' template accordingly. Terraxos (talk) 16:54, 1 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
