Gladiators’ informations edit

Hi! I tought that it would be clearer, if we moved the Gladiators’ infos to a seperate table, like they are in the old versions. The preliminary stats and other important stuff would then be easily revised!

Like this:

Female Gladiators
Alias Name Stats Description Manner(s)
Fury Jodie Ounsley 5 ft 9 in
163 lb
Fire Montell Douglas She's fierce and will burn through the arena.
Diamond Livi Sheldon
Sabre Sheli McCoy
Dynamite Emily Steel
Male Gladiators
Alias Name Stats Description Manner(s)
Steel Zack George
Giant Jamie Christian Johal 6 ft 5 in
Legend Matt Morsia
Nitro Harry Aikines-Aryeetey 5 ft 10 in
187 lb
Apollo Alex Gray 6 ft 5 in
17 st 11 lb

Category edit

Perhaps its time for Category:Gladiators (2023 British TV series) to go along with Category:Gladiators (1992 British TV series) and Category:Gladiators (2008 British TV series), to categorize the gladiators, hosts, presenters, and other 2023 articles -- 64.229.90.172 (talk) 03:13, 9 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Glads’ stats edit

Perhaps it would be interesting information, if we added some stats regarding to each of the Female and Male Glads in the span of the series/season?

My concept:

  • Count about how many episodes he/she featured in
  • Count about how many games/events this competed in on Average per episode
  • Count about how many points this Gladiators gave away on Average
  • Win-Loss rate

what u guys think? 93.106.14.206 (talk) 12:15, 4 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Relating to the stats, I wonder if it would be useful, if we'd add all the events that each of the Gladiators have personally participated in so far.
For example, it would be interesting to figure out that Legend has performed in Collision, Hang Tough, The Edge, The Wall and Powerball, whereas for example Comet has participated so far only in The Wall and Hang Tough! 2001:999:488:835:7969:3EC3:518D:374C (talk) 14:02, 4 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Are anybody ready to contribute some stats to the page? edit

It would be great is people could help with the statistics from each "heat", and add regularly information to the "Episodes" section!

Knowing which gladiator each played, which events were played, and most importantly, what were the results in the Eliminator round, would be imao useful! Also, the episode Ratings are at least a mere importance!

Because at least picking up information is nowadays easier when we have the official websites, etc! 85.76.142.0 (talk) 17:27, 25 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Series 1 article edit

@Neverrainy: Please don't create an article for the first series when a second series has not been confirmed. Information should remain in the main parent series article until more than one series is confirmed, to ensure that unnecessary WP:TOOEARLY splits don't occur. Happily888 (talk) 01:38, 1 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Agreed. But if the page gets deleted for now, someone should save the contents that are in it, so it is then easier to recreate the article! 2001:999:680:1FC4:FC07:79C4:104E:59A2 (talk) 09:46, 1 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Episode summaries edit

I've figured how it could be easy to read the results of each "heat". It would feature list of the events, Gladiators and scores, as usual. However, to make the scores much more understandable, after listed each event & gladiators participating, would come a plain list of each contender's scored, like this: "Example contender: example (nro.) points".

I think this would be less confusing, for especially newcomers of Wikipedia, to interpret correctly the results, than with this old format:

" points Contender A - Contender B points"

To illustrate with an example table (names and scores are examples):

I was just considering this. We present a cumulative score to readers, without explaining that's what it is. One would, I think, assume that under each round's heading the score referred to that round rather than a running total. Given that scoring on Gladiators only determines the Eliminator time offset, we shouldn't focus too heavily on it! MIDI (talk) 13:33, 22 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thinking about it again, we could probably show round score and the aggregate. Whoever wins any individual event is irrelevant, but so is us showing a cumulative score after each round (the reader can't tell that it's cumulative, and without arithmetic it doesn't show who won that round). Will look into options. MIDI (talk) 16:09, 22 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
I've had a play about with a template but to display both male and female results will make the article significantly longer (see my aborted example; it's clear but sizable). We must prioritise the ease of readability, and I think the massive scrolling inhibits accessibility. Similarly, we use far too much bolding and colour at the moment – red and blue text has connotations of hyperlinks, so we're potentially misleading readers with little to no payoff (which colour the contender was is not particularly relevant). MIDI (talk) 18:17, 22 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
Comments struck above as I've worked on this a bit – see User:MIDI/Gladiatorsbox/example for example of collapsable events nested within the episode box. I'll roll this out later in the absence of any objections (considering no comments otherwise so far). MIDI (talk) 09:23, 23 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
This current table looks so much better. You can easily tell who scored whatever amount of points against which gladiator, and what are the total scores after each event! The collapsible tables make it easier to read, and the results aren't directly spoiled for the readers either. I definitely prefer this! 82.197.27.70 (talk) 09:23, 24 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
Wouldn't this be a case of WP:NOTDATABASE per going too in depth into the episodes, having event by event rundown seems excessive as that seems to be the sort of thing for a dedicated wiki not wikipedia. TheDireMasterchat 14:33, 28 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
I kinda agree that this is pretty much full of all kind of stuff, but I find it very helpful when remembering all the contenders and the duels, ect. Also it would/will make even more sense to have these facts, if and when the second series comes. Then we would add all the details for each heat in their own "Series articles". 2001:999:488:835:7523:D1EA:DEAE:9FF2 (talk) 13:50, 31 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Format additions? edit

should some things be added like a new arranged version of the original theme, female contenders no longer having yellow and pink as their colours, the men going first, Gladiator entry themes and so on? Visokor (talk) 20:36, 13 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

The entry themes section is now added to the Gladiators table, so feel free to update it! 2001:999:680:1FC4:3967:F020:8C02:7111 (talk) 11:16, 14 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

runner-up times? edit

should the heats include the runner-up times from the Eliminator? I mean look at this week's episode! Tasha pratically automatically qualified for the quarters from the start! Visokor (talk) 07:53, 18 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Comic Relief trailer? edit

should the Comic Relief trailer be mentioned? Bionic and Electro made an appearance in it! Visokor (talk) 16:02, 19 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Nah, maybe if we created the Gladiators in question own Wiki pages. Even though, it won't be neccessary, if we don't have anything else to say about the Glads themselves, because they're not as notable and/or popular than Glads like Sabre or Diamond!

Series' own article pages?!?!?! edit

I think, that as the first series is now done, and the second is already at the door, this would perhaps be the time, when we separate the different series to their own articles. The brief episode tables would be left on the main page, but the series articles would cover much deeper information about each episode.

Otherwise it will be messy and too long article, if soon two different series are fully covered here. It does also endanger the readability for the newcomers of this format, if we don't separate and organize the series'!

Draft articles:

2001:999:701:134F:B108:CF0B:3F72:E87B (talk) 11:09, 3 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

I've now returned the "contenders' progress" table underneath the short episode table. As it has been deemed to be too early to publish the draft articles, I think this is the wisest choice for now... When we know more for fact about the upcoming series, then it will be enough to justify a separate articles for both series 1 and 2...
