News-slanted section removal

I removed the Internet paragraph since is a bit generic and out of scope here, and anyway too much connected to actuality. Articles must have a borader perspective here. It has been replaced by a dry "Internet and media had a relevant role in the election of Pisapia". I also removed some weasel words ("notable"). Let me know and good work. --'''Attilios''' (talk) 07:34, 16 June 2011 (UTC)

I was replying that you missed the point after reading "Internet and media" here above; but you actually used "Internet and social networks" in the article, which is fine (that is the point). While I think that the text has some value, I too was aware that this was somewhat out of place here. Should we ever have an article, say, about the May-June 2011 administrative elections in Italy... well, maybe. Or part of it could be recycled in an article on the role of social networks in modern politics. Anyway, that's ok for now, I will think about it. Moongateclimber (talk) 10:24, 16 June 2011 (UTC)

The article, twice, characterizes Milan as a "right wing strognhold" to contextualize Pisapia's electoral success. Anyone familiar with the electoral and politicla history of Milan would take exception with that descriptiona as somewhat simplistic. Milan has also hsitorically been a major source of left-wing and center-left-wing support. It would be more accurate to contextualize Pisapia's result in terms of Milan having had a center-right mayor for a prolonged, uninterrupted period (18 years, from 1993 to 2011) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ramillies (talkcontribs) 12:15, 23 June 2011 (UTC)
