The name Girsu edit

In the literature, the "G" in Girsu is always spelled with a diacritic, such as G̃ or Ĝ, and pronounced /ŋ/. The title of the article should reflect that this is a different "G" than in, say, Gilgamesh.

I'd like to open discussion on spelling this city Ngirsu, reflecting pronounciation, or G̃irsu, if diacritics aren't minded. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 144.92.234.20 (talk) 18:58, 10 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sumerophile, do you have any reputable sources that use your spelling? NJMauthor (talk) 21:28, 24 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Possibly the most interesting thing I've seen come out of archaeology in Irawq in recent years. Ploversegg (talk) 05:06, 14 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
