It says he lead 700 men to defend constantinople... i thought it was 7000. Which is right?
Longo -> Giustiniani edit
I found this article referred to the man as "Longo" & not "Giiustiniani", which is how authorities like Donald Nicol & Steven Runciman referred to him. Further, I note the editor responsible for this change was DanielLongo, whose only other edits was to do the same thing to Fall of Constantinople. 700 or 7000 edit
Article says he lead 700 men to defend constantinople. I thought it was 7000 Masterhatch (talk) 13:49, 19 March 2020 (UTC)
From what I have seen elsewhere, there were approx. 7000 men defending the city, 700 of which were brought by Giustiniani (400 from Genoa, 300 from Chios). However, as he was in command of all land forces, both statements are partially correct.--Moostcho (talk) 12:35, 4 April 2022 (UTC)
House of Doria or House of Guistiniani edit
Hi, i believe Giovanni Guistiniani was from the house of Guistiniani, not Doria as described in the article which source leads to a book on sale. Simple search of House of Guistiniani links them to nobility in Chios, where Guistiniani was know to have deployed from en-route to Contantinople and they were one of the major houses of the republic of genoa.
