Not Mandy Patinkin character edit

I've deleted the July 1, 2013, edit that disclaims any origin of the town's name in a Mandy Patinkin character. The edit was superfluous. If the town wasn't named for the Gideons International, the Biblical judge Gideon, the legal figure Clarence Earl Gideon, the character in "The Book of Mormon," or any other Gideon, it would be superfluous to disclaim that origin as well. Regarding [Criminal Minds] and the "Mandy Patinkin] character, I fail to understand the relationship between Gideon, Missouri and the television series or its character, other than that the character is named Gideon. Why do we have external links to the television show and to the Mandy Patinkin web site? Kfander 00:23, 19 October 2015 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kfander (talkcontribs)
