What is the relation of this radio telescope to URAN (Ukrainian Radio Interferometer of NASU, Ukrainian: Український Радіоіонтеферометр Академії Наук - УРАН)? I'm not sure I write my answer in a correct place, sorry if so. URAN is an interferometric system which is added to UTR-2 (in 1980-s) in order to make interferometric observations. UTR-2 may be used as a main part of URAN or as a standalone instrument. GURT we say "is being built to complement UTR-2", but actually it is a new instrument, independaent and stanadalone. Sometimes we make joint observations (GURT and UTR-2 record signal simultaneously) but as a completely independent systems. So no, GURT and URAN are different projects.
