Talk:Giant Robot Project

There is no reason for this page to be deleted for 'No indication of notability, no reliable sources found' - There are links to his website and youtube channel that document the construction and testing of his robot. Who the hell decided this wasn't reliable?

"Reliable sources" has a specific meaning in Wikipedia. For a subject (a person, a company, a project, anything at all) to have a Wikipedia article it has to be notable according to Wikipedia's definition of notability, that is to say, it must have been noted by other people, and written about in secondary sources. Nobody doubts for a moment that the project's website tells the truth or that it documents the project reliably, but that website doesn't in itself show that the project is notable - again, accordng to Wikipedia's definition. --bonadea contributions talk 07:38, 15 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
Well there are two separate reliable sources cited now, the St. Petersburg Times and WCAX.com. 24.57.211.154 (talk) 03:23, 16 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
  • I added a news story from the Herald of Randolph to the External Links section that can be used for citations. It's mostly about Mantzel's 'off the grid' lifestyle though, although the robot is mentioned. 205.211.88.4 (talk) 23:38, 16 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
