Talk:Germany men's national field hockey team

Title edit

I don't really get it. It doesn't really make sense. Why can't it be German national field hockey team? Just like Netherlands national field hockey team. It should be Dutch national field hockey team.Vought109 (talk) 20:33, 15 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Probably this form is opted for in the past because not all national adjectives can be derived so directly from the country names, for example: "Netherlands" -> "Dutch", "Monaco" -> "Monegasque", "United Kingdom" -> "British", "United States" -> "American", "Wales" -> "Welsh" (and so on). Instead, it is easier to start with the country name. Kareldorado (talk) 19:45, 20 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
