Sunk By ?
editThis Article States After serving six operational patrols, U-751 was attacked on her seventh patrol four days into her voyage on July 17. She was sunk, with all hands lost, off the coast of Cape Ortegal, Spain by depth charges from a Lancaster bomber.
However the Article on Gerhard Bigalk the Captain of U-741 states
Bigalk died on 17 July 1942 when U-751 was sunk with all hands by depth charges dropped by a Whitley bomber from No. 502 Squadron RAF and a Lancaster bomber from No. 61 Squadron RAF in the North Atlantic north-west of Cape Ortegal, Spain.
They are not both correct...
- According to Busch & Röll (1999) p.53, the boat was first attacked and forced to dive by Whitley "H" of 502 Squadron RAF and attacked by Lancaster "F" of 61 Squadron about an hour later, when she surfaced again. ÄDA - DÄP VA (talk) 17:45, 25 May 2015 (UTC)
