Visa-free access & Visa-on-arrival edit

This issue has nothing to do with the German passport. It is just a series of off topic templates and should be removed. RashersTierney (talk) 23:05, 2 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

West and East German nationality edit

I was wondering if there was any distinction made by the German passport agency if a German citizen was born in either West or East Germany prior to German reunification. Also, there should be a explanation of this in the article. Jay (talk) 22:32, 10 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

- Such a distinction was never made. Citizens of the GDR, as all other Ethnic Germans, were always considered as Germans (see German nationality law) and thus received the same passport. --Pathofdhamma (talk) 22:04, 10 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

In Details section is it gender or sex for 5? edit

It should say gender for M or F because Male is the physiological gender and Masculine is social gender. Sex and sexual intercourse is the same thing. SO realise that sex is offensive because sex is a very intimate act. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 101.161.7.63 (talk) 10:18, 14 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Look up an image of the passport - it quite clearly says "sex" in English, not "gender". Go look up "sex" in a dictionary instead of changing every Wikipedia article you can find to suit your narrow definition. Haminoon (talk) 10:32, 14 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Potentially false information edit

The second sentence, containing a list of documents which German authorities accept as proof of identity, seems to be incomplete, as the Aryan certificate can also serve that purpose. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bibph (talkcontribs) 00:43, 8 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Clarification regarding document number edit

The source [1] for the format of the passport number states: In exceptional cases, the document number may consist of letters only.. In German: In Ausnahmefällen kann die Dokumentennummer nur aus Buchstaben bestehen.. Is it clarified anywhere what these exceptional cases are? It seems to me like it could just happen by simple coincidence, but I don't see why the specification would point that out. 45.154.8.242 (talk) 14:14, 21 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
