Antibiotic vs Antimicrobial edit

Shouldn’t every instance of “antibiotic” in this article be replaced with “antimicrobial” since Prontosil is synthesized and antibiotics are organic? The Prontosil article even calls it an antimicrobial in the first line Ryryjs (talk) 17:41, 4 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Good point, but not really. Synthetic drugs (quinolone antibiotic, oxazolidinones) are all referred to as antibiotics. We have passed the classical-definition age. Chhandama (talk) 04:04, 5 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Gerhard Domagk, wiki page edit

In the paragraph "Discovery of antibacterial activity", wikipedia writes: "Domagk's four-year-old daughter, Hildegarde"

However, many other sites indicate that she was six years old at the time of her injury. For instance https://www.sciencehistory.org/historical-profile/gerhard-domagk

Was this girl, who can be considered as the first human person cured by an antibiotic, 4 years or 6 years old when her father saved her with a sulfamide antibacterial drug ? Pierre Briozzo (talk) 11:04, 3 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Very good point. Corrected in the article. Chhandama (talk) 04:58, 4 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
