Does this airline exist

edit

I have my doubts to what extent this airline exists. Almost surely it has no scheduled flights from Tbilisi airport, as there is no press coverage of these flights, and as these flights do not show on the Tbilisi airport webpage. Pantherskin (talk) 20:36, 11 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

http://aviation-safety.net/database/operator/airline.php?var=8304 states that EuroLine cesed operations in 2010. There seems to be no trace of the airline ever resuming services as "Georgian International Airlines". Unless we find good sources soon, I would suggest we assume this airline to be defunct. I agree with all of the doubts voiced above. Apparently the company itself exists, but it certainly does not seem to be operating on a regular basis. There has been no news about it actually managing to acquire any aircraft, only that negotiations to do so were ongoing. I have updated the fleet count and history to reflect this. Also, all claims as to its operations come from the company's own website, which is "under construction" as I write this. How mysterious... I think we should keep the page for now as a future / developing company, but the airline may or may not ever actually operate. Pufferfyshe (talk) 13:07, 2 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
From our reference database (mandated by IATA), that airline was indeed referred to by the IATA code 4L and ICAO code GIL. It has been removed from our database (as 4L now designates Palau National Airlines; see also http://www.iata.org/publications/Pages/code-search.aspx) very recently, but I cannot have my hand on the corresponding official IATA document. -- Denis.arnaud (talk) 22:43, 7 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
