Missing information
editThis article has many holes in its narrative. Its subject was born, but there's nothing about his parents, siblings, etc. The very next fact (in the same sentence!)is his higher education, and from there, we immediately proceed to the Jeannette expedition and his death. The only mention of his wife is in the references, and we are left in the dark about children, etc. (there is more about his gravestone than his family). Surely these facts are known; indeed, the article on the expedition contains more of his biographical details than this one does. --Piledhigheranddeeper (talk) 12:14, 9 July 2016 (UTC)
