Transferred to the Republic of Vietnam?

edit

The phrasing of the sentence "He transferred to the Republic of Vietnam in July 1967" sounds wrong. That makes it sound as if he reported to a unit in the ARVN or reported to the government of South Vietnam. Christmas may have been deployed to the Republic of Vietnam but I would think that he was transferred to a USMC command in the Republic of Vietnam. Consider all the other statements about his military assignments. For example, "In July 1971, Christmas was transferred to Headquarters Marine Corps, Washington, D.C". That sentence makes sense. He wasn't transferred to Washington D.C.; he was "Headquarters Marine Corps, Washington, D.C".
