Notability edit

I find it extraordinary that someone wishes to see this page - and those of previous Lords Provost of Edinburgh - deleted. Maybe he/she knows little about Scotland's capital city; the office of Lord Provost is an ancient one and the equivalent of Lord Mayor in an English city. --Matthewross 22:10, 10 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I know plenty about Scottish society and the "Lord Mayor" and "Provost" roles do not carry any real power unlike the position of Mayor in the US additionally it is a purely honorary role and they are still just local councillors - which does not satisfy the polititian criteria under WP:N hence the reason I raised the issue of notability.--Vintagekits 23:10, 10 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
Worth comment is the fact that he is also Lord Lieutenant of Edinburgh. Jcuk 14:53, 15 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
