Talk:George Churchill (Royal Navy officer)

Sea service edit

The list of ships in which George Churchill served as lieutenant is erratic and misses out several commissions, and his actual service record was much more consistent than is implied in the article, particularly in the sentences "It is difficult to believe that these appointments involved active service. If Churchill had really served, or wished to serve, afloat, there can be little question but that, with his brother's court interest, his promotion would have been very much more rapid.". He clearly did serve most of the Restoration period afloat. I have inserted the missing vessels and appropriate dates. Rif Winfield (talk) 10:14, 7 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Capitalisation edit

I found the capitalisation in this article rather odd; "the King", "the First Lord of the Admiralty", "the Prince", "the Admiralty" should all be capitalised (compare "the President" and "the Senate"). I have boldly corrected them. Shem (talk) 17:55, 24 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
