Jacob's Staff a different instrument? edit

I have been investigating the claims that Purbach has invented the Jacob's staff. I have noted that several sources refer to the development as deriving from Ptolemy's triquetrum. This leads me to believe that the instrument is not a cross-staff but a completely different instrument. I'm going to continue to look into this.

So many things have been given the name "Jacob's Staff" that it can not be used as a conclusive pointer to any one thing. Michael Daly 21:27, 30 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Review of Recent edits edit

The article has seen fairly significant edits and overall has improved as a result. There are still some issues with the lead though. It does little to highlight Peuerbach's relevance and significant achievements. There are some issues with citations in the last paragraph of Works as well. -- Josh.vill (talk) 00:09, 31 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi! I worked on making the article more digestible but am open to suggestion as needed Sartor01 (talk) 05:54, 6 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
