Imprecise term edit
This could be a difficult article to manage because geologic province isn't a very precise term, it's not widely used and provinces could be defined differently depending on the specific geologic discipline being applied. As an example of the definition of a province being different when a different geologic discipline is applied, this reference, also from the USGS, defines provinces in a completely different way: https://ngmdb.usgs.gov/Geolex/stratres/provinces.
