Started the article, sill on the brief side, in part because I have used only easily available reference material - as far as I know, he is still alive. No defamatory material appears in the article, and to the best of my knowledge, there is no negative aspect of his life likely to lead to any defamatory material being added. More bio details welcomed.Winstonwolfe 06:29, 8 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Looks okay - there is lots of information available but it's a matter of knowing where to look. I'll help out when possible.Minorhistorian (talk) 01:23, 9 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

New Zealand task force edit

For some reason, the New Zealand task force doesn't show up in the banner, although it is entered properly (so far as I can tell). PKKloeppel (talk) 01:35, 7 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

(Late reply) It required deletion of a space for some reason. It took me a few attempts to fix. Never seen that before. Anyway it is showing now. — AustralianRupert (talk) 04:57, 27 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Possible improvements edit

I have completed the B class checklist for the Military History project and believe that this article could be improved by addressing the following:

  • Referencing: at least one in line citation per paragraph for a successful B class review is the general rule, currently the article has no in line citations;
  • Coverage: more information needs to be added about the subject's later life for a B class rating;
  • Supporting materials: currently passes, but could be improved with the addition of an infobox. For an example, see Clive Caldwell. The code can just be copied from there if anyone is keen.  Done

Anyway, hope this helps. If you wish for a re-assessment later, please add the article name to the list at WP:MHA. Cheers. — AustralianRupert (talk) 04:57, 27 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

I've done some work on the article, inserting in line citations, however, the only references I had were those that were provided as external links on the article originally and to be honest I'm a little concerned about whether or not they could be considered reliable sources as per WP:RS. If someone with sources and knowledge of the subject could add something more authoritative, that would be great. Perhaps a paper source might help to expand the reference base. Also, I feel that the coverage is still lacking, in terms of the early and later life sections. — AustralianRupert (talk) 08:47, 27 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
Perhaps Brewster F2a Buffalo Aces of World War 2 by Stenman & Davey from Osprey might have something in it. I found it on Google books, but its not being released until 2010. So maybe when it comes out, if someone is keen they can buy it and improve the article. — AustralianRupert (talk) 08:50, 27 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Brewster Buffalo in the Winter War edit

The Brewster Buffalo fighter saw no action in the Winter War, as the article claims. It was put to good use in the Continuation War, however. Epollari (talk) 09:03, 25 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Please feel free to make the change if you believe it to be necessary. I believe that you are correct, but I'm not an expert on this topic. If possible, please provide an inline citation for this fact in the article when/if you make the change. Regards, AustralianRupert (talk) 00:55, 26 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
