Critical view needed
editThis article, and Web content on general protest, and many things that either promote or attack any idea, lack any actual information. In particular, everybody is praising the idea (or demonising other ideas) from their armchair or ivory tower.
What is urgently needed—and not found on the Web by a quick search—is some sort of objective, observed, studied evaluation of how effective gentle protest is compared to other methods. Does it work? Is it useful? Is it good? It could be argued that it diverts people from other, less gentle but more effective, methods of protest. I don't know from my armchair if this is the case, it needs facts.
