Problems with the article
editIn my opinion, this article has several problems. It is necessary to clearly distinguish between genetic ecology and ecological genetics. Ford was the founder of ecological genetics, but was he also the founder of genetic ecology? The definitions and paragraphs at the beginning of the article should be drafted differently.--Miguelferig (talk) 18:55, 14 June 2024 (UTC)
I'm also having trouble understanding what this article is about. The lead section suggests that it's a paradigm for thinking about how horizontal gene transfer happens, but the article horizontal gene transfer does not link here. The history section tries to connect it to ecological genetics, but ecological genetics only links here with an unexplained "see also". The rest is just background with no content, not even backing up what is stated in the lead section. I tried looking at incoming links for context, and found that the article is nearly orphaned. Maybe parts of this article should be merged into horizontal gene transfer and other parts into ecological genetics? Jruderman (talk) 07:33, 27 June 2024 (UTC)
