Use of English names where appropriate

edit

The subject of this article is widely known in English language histories as Gabriel Radomir. As such this should be the name used on Wikipedia. In general, where a historical person possesses a name that has an English equivalent this should be used as a matter of general policy. English language histories use Frederick the Great, not Friedrich der Große, Joan of Arc, not Jeanne d'Arc. There are few exceptions to this rule, such as Charlemagne, but these are rare and have a long history of use. Urselius (talk) 11:25, 13 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
