Compression applications edit
This is apparently relevant to Block Truncation Coding[1]. The general idea seems to be that it's a route to an image compression scheme with a formal upper error bound. Somebody from the compression world might be able to make some sense out of the article. Right now, it's just an abstract definition. --John Nagle (talk) 19:32, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

- In fact, the article had nothing to do with Gauss-Jacobi quadrature, so I rewrote it completely. -- Jitse Niesen (talk) 16:34, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
