I wonder if all the CY[alpha][alpha] ICAO codes are also Y[alpha][alpha] IATA codes — does anyone know? Right now, the IATA code is listed as N/A rather than "YND". David 13:56, 17 October 2005 (UTC)

No they aren't. Some like this one are that way but others like Trenton Airport (Nova Scotia) don't have a code that I can find and others like Digby Airport have CYID and YDG, and Fox Harbour Airport has CFH4 and YFX. I find most of them here. CambridgeBayWeather 14:05, 17 October 2005 (UTC)

It turns out to be even more complex. If you search the database for Joliette Airport (CSG3) you get XJL but that's for rail service and they have codes for airports that no longer exist in the CFS. CambridgeBayWeather 23:19, 17 October 2005 (UTC)

Aeropro

From their web site, it looks like Aeropro offers only charter, not scheduled airline service, so I've removed the section from the article. If anyone has a source for scheduled service from Gatineau, please let us know. David (talk) 15:12, 20 September 2008 (UTC)

I found passenger service on the airport site [1], but listed under "Expresso" instead of Aeropro. Not sure if they're the same company. David (talk) 15:17, 20 September 2008 (UTC)

Airport name

The official airport name is Aéroport Exécutif Gatineau-Ottawa in french and Gatineau-Ottawa Executive Airport in english. An editor keeps renaming it to Ottawa/Gatineau Airport. This is not its name, nor are there any references to back this claim. The editor claims a reference they have added which cannot be searched shows this erroneous name. This is either completely untrue or an error. I have reverted this unreferenced name addition and the editor has repeatedly re-added it. Just because you don't have access to the Canada Flight Supplement does not stop it from being a valid source. It appears at least once in every Canadian airport article and I started adding it in 2005. I'm not renaming the article just adding to it. To do that I would have to move the article to Ottawa/Gatineau Airport, which exists as a redirect. There are multiple articles on Wikipedia where a reference is not easily searchable. I would question why you are adding "Aéroport exécutif Gatineau-Ottawa" without a source when it's easy to obtain. By the way Skyvector, another source used in multiple airports shows the name as Ottawa/Gatineau Airport as does the VFR chart on that page. Who said you were trying to rename the article? You were trying to rename the infobox to include a name that doesn't exist outside a supposed newsletter not available online, and a terribly amateur looking charting site. The fact is, whether those references have it unofficially listed as O-G Executive Airport or not, it is clearly an error and obviously incorrect. A simple Google search proves that. Also, the french title is usually italicized and smaller, per other Canadian airport articles. Not sure why you are being so defensive over an obvious error on your part and claiming ownership over this article. It's not that serious. 76.69.7.202 (talk) 01:15, 7 January 2022 (UTC)

You said I was trying to rename it in the second sentence of your first comment and I wasn't trying to rename the infobox either. The name is in the Canada Flight Supplement (CFS), which is not a "supposed newsletter" and would be in other official publications of Nav Canada, the very people who manage our civil air navigation system, and Transport Canada. Quite often Nav Canada and TC have their official names that differ to the common name or the official name used by the operator. Some of these are odd but none of them are errors. Skyvector may seem to you as a "terribly amateur looking charting site" but, like the CFS, it is deemed reliable and accurate enough to used throughout Wikipedia. The small font is used in some infoboxes but not in others and that's just a red herring and something I usually do as well. I've added the correct {{small}} template rather than the subscript tag.
