Merge done because doors are an integral part of the building. No real reasons given for not merging. -- P 1 9 9   17:56, 18 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Propose merger of Temple of Janus (Roman Forum) and Gates of Janus (merely the doors of the former). Valerius Tygart (talk) 15:36, 8 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

I propose you keep them separate obviously with links between. Someone who knows ancient architecture should add to the entry about the Temple of Janus in regard to its location, when it was built, restored, its size, etc. The entire entry should be much more than the peace ceremony associated with it. - Gaius Stern wikipedia contributor (my PhD training did not cover this information or I would jump in myselfGaius stern (talk) 19:32, 22 September 2011 (UTC))Reply
Please give reasons for not merging these articles as proposed. The rationale for merging is that they are really redundant (one article for the temple, one for the gates/doors of the same temple). Valerius Tygart (talk) 16:10, 26 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

I would propose not only that the two pages be kept separate but also that there is a place for a disambiguation page as Gates of Janus is also the title of a work by Ian Brady (q.v. Moors Murders). Dane Edwards 19:46, 7 June 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dane (talkcontribs)
