BBC?

edit

An anon recently edited this article to say that Russell is moving on to the BBC. Is this correct? (I've been too busy to check the OG forum lately, so for all I know it could be.) If it is right, in what capacity will he be working for the Beeb? Or is this just a reference to "The Inside Story" (which I wouldn't think of as "working for the BBC", any more than he was "working for New Line Cinema when he wrote those Lord of the Rings behind-the-scenes books). —Josiah Rowe (talkcontribs) 16:58, 14 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

There's been all sorts of wild speculation about why he's left the Big Finish Doctor Who range — because of an "exciting new opportunity" according to their press release — but absolutely no news of where he's going or what he's doing next. Angmering 17:04, 14 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
An anonymous edit last night (since reverted) said, "he stepped down to replace Helen Raynor as script editor on the new television series of Doctor Who". That has been very widely rumoured in fan circles and I don't doubt that it's true, but it does not as yet appear to be verifiable, so I guess we either leave discussion here until someone finds an appropriate citation or put it on the article page with a fact tag. I'm sure if and when this is announced they'll be a press release and/or a report on the OG news page that can be cited and which will confirm his role precisely. Until then, it's not verifiable and shouldn't be included. —Whouk (talk) 13:21, 18 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
I should have doubted it was true as Russell has yet to get a script editing credit on Doctor Who or Torchwood as far as I know. Precisely what his current role at BBC Wales is, I don't know. If anyone does, that would be useful. Bondegezou (talk) 14:34, 29 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
