Book
editNote about the forthcoming GmG book.[1] May not be reliable enough, but there's sure to be another source for this somewhere. EVula // talk // ☯ // 16:57, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
Mother Jones sources
editThe following two sources from Mother Jones should be integrated better into the article: [2]; [3] . Right now there is a sentence saying "GMG received wide attention in 2008" and cites these articles...first of all, multiple articles from one source doesn't really prove wide attention, and secondly it would be much better to talk more specifically about the impact and reception of GMG using both of these sources. I don't have time to read them and integrate the information into the article right now (I'm technically supposed to be on a Wikibreak...) but if it hasn't been done sometime in the next couple days I can probably do it. —Politizer talk/contribs 14:49, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
Predecessors to GMG
editBack in June 2006 there was a flurry of strips, thrown together by contributors to certain message boards or threads, who removed Garfield's dialogue (but not Garfield) from a number of strips. You can see them archived here. When I recently heard of GMG I thought this was the same project, and only later realized that it's a more recent webcomic, and I was hoping this article would make some mention of these earlier strips and possibly the relationship (if any) between them. It's possible there's no connection and thus no source to cite for this, but I was curious if any of the authors of this article would have something to say about it. - Unfortunately the link to that archive now leads to a japanese insurance website... does anybody know where I could find these strips nowadays? Murnjendoof (talk) 07:48, 18 May 2022 (UTC)
Other "Minus" Strips
editCan anyone comment on why the link to "other minus strips" was undone? I think that they meaningfully demonstrate why this concept works for Garfield better than for other comics.Wikiwaterboy (talk) 00:14, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
- An IP editor removed it without giving a rationale. I have reverted that edit as vandalism (sorry I didn't notice it sooner). Politizer talk/contribs 00:21, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
Has "square root of minus garfield" its own page? I did not find one. It would be worth doing it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.102.159.243 (talk) 20:07, 10 March 2010 (UTC)
Publication
editI have removed line and reference "Although Walsh created "90%" of the strips on his Web site, none of the strips in the book were created by him." as it is an incorrect deduction from the referenced page. All the strips credited to Dan Walsh in the book were first included on Garfield Minus Garfield the website and were therefore correctly credited to him. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Travors (talk • contribs) 04:19, 15 February 2009 (UTC)
GoComics
editIt seems a Davis-official GMG is now on Gocomics.com [4]. This seems worthy of mention. LukeSurl t c 10:35, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
Odie
editCan anybody find out if Odie is also taken out of the stripes? Mrmoustache14 (talk) 20:32, 29 May 2013 (UTC)
