Use of the name Gareth before the 1970's

edit

I have no idea why the author is suggesting that the name Gareth was not used an awful lot before the 1970's, so I removed it.

Welsh surname in the English names category? Someone should probably fix that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.13.55.115 (talk) 11:21, 25 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

"English-language name"

edit

Gareth may or may not be a popular name in England, but I'm unsure that would make it an "English-language name". The name is demonstrably Brythonic, specifically Welsh. Following the well defined protocol (see popular celtic names in England such as Liam, Rory and Siobhan) I have edited the article to better reflect it's origins.
